BET Best New International Act 2019, Sho Madjozi has fingered out Nigeria’s music star, Burna Boy, of being the figure behind the removal or flagging of the Remix of ‘Own it’ after its release about a month ago. The John Cena hitmaker in a series of tweets is accusing Burna boy of notifying Stormzy to bring down the song, which she is featured.
The song was originally composed by British rapper, Stormy, and featured Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran. Sho Madjozi has been nominated alongside Burna Boy for the Best International Act award at this year’s award event. The songstress believes the Nigerian music star finds her as a threat to the award and, thus, his decision to cause her remix with Stormzy to be taken down from the internet.
Burna Boy, in a tweet, has denied the allegations labeled against him by the South African music star. He’s emphasized that the remix’s flagging has nothing to do with him as the song doesn’t belong to him or the award scheme. Burna Boy believes improper clearance of the remix with the Label might have accounted for the song being flagged off.
Sho Madjozi also acknowledged that she’s always shared a cordial relationship with the Nigerian Music star until both of them were nominated for the BET International Act award. Burna Boy won the award last year and hopes to keep hold of it at this year’s event.
